The House of Busby partners with the Winnie Mabaso Foundation, a non-profit organization established to support vulnerable and orphaned children in South Africa, particularly those living with HIV. Over the years their work has extended to encompass all ages of those who are underprivileged and in desperate need from babies to grannies. The Foundation has changed and continues to change the lives of continues to change the lives of countless people in South Africa.
We believe in creating sustainability within the communities we support. To this end Busby has actively partnered with the Winnie Mabaso foundation to sponsor a hydroponic vegetable growing tunnel and rainwater harvesting solution for the community of Meriting - an informal settlement where the foundation is based. The project is yielding food for the local community as well as providing small business opportunities for locals who are provided with seedlings from the tunnel. In addition to this initiative, Busby actively supports the foundation’s Ilamula House by providing educational support amongst other needs. A culture of “Giving back” is owned at every level of the organisation with Busby staff actively volunteering, participating and assisting where possible with educational supplies, book collections, clothing and baby product donations and any other requirement that the community may have. We are proud that our contribution can have a sustainable impact on the lives of girls and the community.
